Geo-Technology Associates celebrates 25 years in business

ABINGDON, MD. — This month marks Geo-Technology Associates, Inc.’s (GTA) 25th year in business. The company was originally founded by the joint efforts of John L. Wirth, Rich Morris, Kirk Ritchie, and Thomas O’Laughlin as a geotechnical engineering firm to expand and complement the services provided by its sister company, Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA). Over the years, the firm has expanded its services offered and geographic reach. With a staff of more than 125 throughout their 11 offices in six states, GTA’s breadth of services includes geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering & natural sciences, subsurface exploration, groundwater & wastewater consulting, and construction observation and testing services. The firm’s strength remains the ability to provide excellent customer service, underpinned by technical competence.

“We owe our success to our clients, who continue to entrust us with new and challenging projects,” said GTA president, Pat Klima, P.E. “Our clients look to us as part of their team. We respect and appreciate that position, and work hard to maintain the trust placed in us. We look forward to the next 25 years!”

Founded in 1985, GTA along with their affiliate firm, MRA, offer cost-efficient and creative solutions in the planning, design, and construction of commercial, residential, golf course, mining and reclamation, and infrastructure projects. Together, GTA and MRA have a staff of more than 250, with experience in nearly all areas of geotechnical and environmental consulting, drilling, construction observation and testing, engineering, architecture, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying. Strategically placed offices in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and North Carolina allow for effective coverage throughout the mid-Atlantic region and Carolinas.
