Gannett Fleming creates innovation center

HARRISBURG, PA.—International planning, design, and construction management firm Gannett Fleming, Inc., created a Collaborative Research & Innovation Center (CRIC) to encourage and facilitate companywide innovation to bring new products and services to the diverse markets it serves. The CRIC initiative provides the firm’s employees with a forum to submit ideas and watch them come to fruition. Recent examples of Gannett Fleming’s innovations include the following:

  • IntelliGrout system, an automated system that allows for real-time monitoring, control, analysis, and reporting of grouting results in rock and soil;
  • Saber, a computerized maintenance management system;
  • Web Environmental Management System (EMS) Manager, an application that allows users to access EMS policies and documentation easily, track EMS audits and corrective actions, and assign training tasks;
  • Oculus Network, a design solution for generic, open-source code remote and video monitoring and maintenance management system for elevators and escalators; and
  • IRRIS, a web-based geospatial application that supports transportation security, logistics, emergency management, and event analysis for state and federal agencies.

Gannett Fleming Vice President Patrick J. Welch directs this new initiative. The CRIC will work closely with Gannett Fleming’s practices across the country to solicit, evaluate, and advance unique concepts, services, and products.
