Free webcast: Maximizing Transportation Funding with Modern Design Solutions

A free CE News webcast—Maximizing Transportation Funding with Modern Design Solutions—will explore the impact for civil engineers of increased investment in transportation infrastructure resulting from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and other funding mechanisms, as well as ideas about how to use this money efficiently. The one-hour webcast, June 17, 2009, features Timothy W. Martin, P.E., national director, U.S. Highways and Bridges, AECOM Transportation; and Karen Weiss, P.E., technical marketing manager, Autodesk, Inc.

Martin will report on the state of transportation infrastructure and funding in the United States, and Weiss will show attendees how integrated processes impact the future design of road and highway projects by more effectively predicting the performance of projects, quickly responding to design changes, and delivering accurate 3D models. The presenters will explain how technology can meet the challenges transportation agencies and their consultants face once projects are underway.
