FGI to hold water containment and conveyance short course

Littleton, Colo. — The Fabricated Geomembrane Institute (FGI) is sponsoring a course on “Best Practices for Water Containment and Conveyance,” Sept. 19, 2014, in Greeley, Colo. This day-long course will be taught by industry professionals from academia, contractors, engineers, installers and third-party testing personnel. This course will cover valuable information pertinent the proper design, specification and construction of water related applications. Timothy D. Stark, Ph.D., professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will lead the course and act as moderator.

There will be an extensive network of industry professionals from which participants can draw knowledge and experience. The day will be packed with practical information that participants can implement into their projects immediately.

Speakers at the conference include Doug MacDonald, Aqua Engineering, on design and construction of water storage facilities, and Phil Carter, City of Greeley, will be presenting on current water trends and issues. Stan Slifer and Pat Elliot will talk about geomembrane applications and proper installation. Many other speakers will also present during the course. Registration for Industry Professionals is $49 until Sept. 5, 2014, and government employees and students are welcome free of charge.
