EPA provides green infrastructure guide in arid and semi-arid climates

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a guidance document describing approaches that can help communities explore adaptive, innovative stormwater management techniques in arid and semi-arid climates.

The guide also provides many environmental, social, and economic benefits of green infrastructure to reduce runoff, conserve water, recharge groundwater, conserve energy, and improve air quality in water-limited areas. The guide is available at www.epa.gov/npdes/pubs/arid_climates_casestudy.pdf.

In addition, the EPA has updated the Green Infrastructure website to include information on sources of funding, case studies, technologies and approaches, news and bulletins, and partnership information.
