christopher consultants acquires oldest engineering firm in Virginia

Fairfax, Va. — christopher consultants, ltd. acquired Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd. (PSA), a civil engineering, surveying and land planning firm, effective January 31, 2017. PSA, headquartered in Leesburg, Va., has been recognized as the oldest business in the Washington Metropolitan area.

PSA’s President and CEO Joe Paciulli, LS, will continue to head their management team for what will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of christopher consultants, ltd.

“With the addition of Paciulli we had the unique opportunity to expand our core services in our own backyard. The combined tenure of the team is phenomenal,” said Bill Zink, PE, President of christopher.

Joe Paciulli said both clients and employees will benefit from this acquisition. “This strategic move allows us to provide an immediate add-value to our existing clients. On day one we can provide additional services and capabilities. Our entire team is staying in place at our current Loudoun location and is now backed by the strength, depth and resources of the christopher team.”

As for employees, Paciulli noted the stability in keeping his leadership team in place to ensure a smooth transition. In addition, the companies know each other well, having worked together for decades to improve the industry through active participation in organizations like the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), National Association for Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Virginia Association of Surveyors (VAS).

“Paciulli is a welcome addition to christopher,” Zink said. “We are truly excited about the future and what we will be able to accomplish with the combining of our companies.”
