Atwell acquires Texas Engineering Solutions

Southfield, Mich. — Consulting, engineering and construction services firm Atwell, LLC acquired Austin, Texas-based Texas Engineering Solutions (TES), an established civil engineering firm, providing professional design and entitlement services throughout Central Texas.

With more than 20 locations across the United States and over 600 employees, Atwell ranks among the Top 200 design firms in the country.  The addition of the TES team further builds on Atwell’s capabilities, allowing the company to launch operations in Austin, enhance the firm’s land development experience, and better serve clients across the country.

TES founders Hank Smith, PE, and Stephen Delgado, PE, will continue to lead the Austin office.

“The opportunity to join forces with an experienced group of talented professionals was attractive,” said Atwell President and CEO Brian R. Wenzel.  “Stephen Delgado, Hank Smith and their team have built a great reputation based on dedication to customer service and by providing high quality design services to the local land development market.”

Established in 2009, Texas Engineering Solutions (TES) is an Austin-based professional consulting firm specializing in civil engineering, land development, municipal consulting, and construction phase services.  They offer comprehensive, concept to completion, planning and design services for commercial and residential properties throughout Central Texas.

“We are very excited to work with a team that shares the same values and dedication to client service,” said Stephen Delgado.  “After nine years of growth and success, this was the next logical step to achieve our mission of building a world-class team providing world-class service.”

“This partnership is an exciting next step for TES,” said Hank Smith. “I’m extremely proud of the TES team and excited to be a part of Atwell’s great culture and contribute to their technical expertise and industry diversification.”

TES will remain in its current Austin Texas office, continue to operate as usual, and retain the TES brand, with the expectation of transitioning fully to Atwell by mid-2019.
