Awards, Promotions, and New Hires


    Fred Cummings is now leading Hatchs Infrastructure Division in Western North America. Based in Vancouver, Cummings will be responsible for business strategy and operations and for client and partner engagement.

    Skelly and Loy hired Mark T. Pitterle, Ph.D., P.E., as regional director of business development for its Pittsburgh office. His project focus is with rural water and wastewater services, green stormwater infrastructure, acid mine drainage treatment, and sustainability/life cycle assessment. Sandra K. Basehore and Gerald W. Longenecker, P.E., were named executive vice president-Environmental Services and executive vice president-Engineering Services, respectively, at Skelly and Loy.

    Peter Gertler, AICP, joined HDR in the firms Oakland, Calif. office. He will work with HDR clients around the globe to advance their visions for smart, sustainable mobility solutions. Scott Goehri, P.E., ENV SP, was named director of professional services for HDR’s Transportation Business Group. Kevin Bergschneider, water program leader in HDRs Denver office, was elected vice president of the American Water Works Association.

    WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff appointed several employees to senior vice president and vice president positions in its U.S. buildings practice. Newly appointed senior vice presidents include Herbert Els, Building Technology Systems (BTS) department head in San Francisco for the last three years and national BTS practice leader starting in 2015; Daniel Hurley, assuming a larger role with project delivery and client management; Mark Montgomery, managing director of the buildings office in Denver (including Boulder and Kansas City); David Sinz, managing director of the buildings office in Houston; and David Wright, co-manager of the buildings office in Richmond. Vice president promotions include Esteban Anzola (NYC – Structures); James Coppage (Richmond – Systems); Lindy Damato (San Francisco – Systems); Jay Goode (Dallas – Systems); Adam Kyle (San Francisco – Built Ecology); and Scott Petit (Boston – Commissioning).

    Youssef Elzein, P.E., joined Passero Associates in its Dayton, Ohio office as a senior project manager in the Airport Group. He has more than 30 years of experience in airport project planning, design, and analysis, and in construction and project management.

    Psomas appointed Kathleen Brady, AICP; Ann Johnston; and Andrew Nickerson, P.E., QSD, ENV SP, as principals of the firm. Brady, leader of the firms environmental planning team, has focused on environmental assessment projects for public and private clients. Johnston, resource management team leader, specializes in assessment and integration of biological data into environmental documentation. Nickerson has 20 years of experience providing civil engineering design of public transportation infrastructure and private residential, commercial, and institutional facilities.
