SEI’s 2008 trial design problem

SEI’s trial design problems are investigations into how structural engineers interpret code provisions. This year’s exercise is designed to take about an hour, and all solutions will be anonymous in the publication of results.

The purpose of the 2008 problem is to evaluate if practicing engineers are able to accurately understand and consistently implement the current code, as well as possible future code provisions. Participation will help ensure that ASCE/SEI standards continue to provide information clearly. Submit your solution by Dec. 15, 2008. Visit https://content.seinstitute.org/ for more information.
