CH2M HILL receives Corporate Award of the Year from Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs

Denver — CH2M HILL received the Corporate Award of the Year from the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs (OAME). This award is given to a major corporation that has most provided distinguished support to minority- and women-owned small businesses, and exemplifies OAME’s mission of promoting entrepreneurship and economic development for ethnic minorities.

This is the latest in a long series of awards and recognitions for CH2M HILL’s support of minority businesses, including being named as one of the Select 50 Diversity Employers of Choice by Best Jobs USA.

In 2009, CH2M HILL became the first firm in the heavily male-dominated engineering and construction industry to receive the prestigious Catalyst Award for our commitment to recruit, develop, and advance women in the workplace. The company has also been named one of the Top 50 Companies to Work For by Woman Engineer Magazine.

CH2M HILL has been a long-time supporter of OAME, including service on the OAME Board of Directors, support of the Port of Portland’s Mentor/Protégé Program which works with OAME to connect emerging minority- and women-owned companies with established firms, and regular contributions of CH2M HILL staff time to OAME activities.

Last May CH2M HILL architectural designer and sustainability expert Ozzie Gonzalez hosted the annual OAME Trade Show & Luncheon linking buyers from public and private agencies with Minority, Women and Emerging Small Businesses (MWESBs). Over 3,000 attended this year’s event. Ozzie also serves as a Small Business Champion within CH2M HILL’s IDC Architects where he is responsible for maintaining working relationships with MWESB firms.
