AEC TECH NEWS: 3D Repo develops construction health and safety VR app
3D Repo is working with Balfour Beatty, Vinci and Highways England to deploy a Virtual Reality (VR) simulation for Zero Harm Health and Safety Training. Part of the Smart Motorway program, the fully immersive simulation is designed to prevent on-site accidents by making highways construction and maintenance projects safer through improved training.

FINLEY Engineering Group recently implemented SOFiSTiK, a seamless BIM workflow for structural engineering. All necessary steps from modeling through to generating reinforcement sheets for civil and structural engineering projects can be carried out using a smart data transfer between Autodesk and SOFiStiK software.

Analytical Graphics Inc. (AGI) and Bentley Systems announced Bentley Systems as a co-founder of the new Cesium Consortium. Cesium is an open source, browser-based virtual globe that can stream very large datasets through a browser to desktops, tablets, and smart phones.
