Baker expands ecological restoration team

Cary, N.C. — Michael Baker International, LLC announced that Scott King has joined the company to support the continued growth and expansion of the Mid-Atlantic region Ecosystem Restoration Group and position the company to be a national leader in this market. King, a senior Environmental Scientist, brings a wide spectrum of expertise and experience, advancing Baker’s mission to provide increased innovation and expertise in ecological restoration and sustainability.

King will support the Ecosystem Restoration Group, which has an outstanding history of ecological restoration in the region. Considered one of the top environmental restoration consulting groups in North Carolina, Baker’s capabilities will be expanded in wetland restoration, to offer clients sustainable and feasible solutions to wetland challenges.

King brings a passion for the natural environment and a resume that includes degrees in Soil Science and Biology from North Carolina State University and The College of William and Mary, as well as 15 years’ private and public experience in natural resources.  His experience allows Baker to continue to focus on delivering the highest level of technical capacity, innovation and differentiated services capabilities to our public and private clients.  “I have always loved the outdoors and been fascinated with how nature works. From high school onward, I knew I wanted a career in the environmental field,” said King.

King will support several large projects and activities—primarily stream and wetland restoration, as well geographic information systems (GIS) analysis, wetland delineations, storm water best management practices, and more.

“Michael Baker International’s team is excited to be working with Scott King,” indicated Scott Hunt, P.E., Ecosystem Restoration Manager with Baker. “With his support, Baker’s Ecosystem Restoration Group will continue to be a market leader in ecological restoration, exceeding the expectation of clients and most importantly, creating a sustainable future.”
