AutoCAD software for Mac
Autodesk introduces AutoCAD for Mac OS X and a free AutoCAD WS mobile application for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch that will allow users to edit and share their AutoCAD designs in the field. AutoCAD for Mac takes full advantage of Mac OS X, including graphical browsing of design files with Cover Flow and use of Multi-Touch gestures on Mac notebooks, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad for intuitive pan and zoom features. User experience design patterns, such as the visual approach to drawing and layout management, have also been incorporated into AutoCAD for Mac.

Pulsafeeder acquires PeriFlo
Pulsafeeder, a manufacturer of pumps and pumping technologies for a variety of applications, acquired PeriFlo, a provider of peristaltic pumps for the industrial and municipal water and wastewater markets. PeriFlo has annual revenues of about $3.5 million and an application engineering team with more than 30 years of peristaltic pumping experience.

Robotic imaging software
Leica Geosystems’ new robotic Imaging Total Station, the Leica Viva TS15, provides advanced imaging functionality combined with dynamic tracking capabilities for one-person surveying. The Leica Viva TS15 adds a high-resolution camera to further enhance total station productivity. Furthermore, it features Leica SmartWorx Viva onboard software. Traditional robotic operation is significantly improved with imaging features through Image Assisted Surveying and Documentation, the company said. The software also offers enhanced sketching, image linking, and grid scanning.

ArcGIS for AutoCAD
Esri’s latest ArcGIS for AutoCAD release offers significant performance improvements including faster access and enhanced image quality of map services, the company said. AutoCAD professionals can use the free, downloadable tool to find and use GIS data and imagery either from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Server. Build 250 of ArcGIS for AutoCAD has also been updated to support 32-bit and 64-bit AutoCAD versions 2010 and 2011, allowing users to share and exploit GIS content within local files, throughout the enterprise, and in the cloud.

VUEWorks, Inc., introduces VUEWorks 2010, a major upgrade of its map-centric, web-enabled, GIS-integrated work order and asset management software. New features in VUEWorks 2010 will include support for Esri ArcGIS Server versions 9.3.1 and 10.0; streamlined interface; faster GIS map loading; collapsible layer list; ability to define work order forms at the activity level; a dashboard that users can configure with graphs and chart gadgets for real-time statistic feedback on work orders and service calls; and more options in the condition and budget forecasting modules.
