Business software user conferences
The following software developers offer annual user conferences, usually featuring hands-on training, technical and application presentations, networking opportunities, partner exhibits, and introduction of new products. Many conferences provide industry-specific training, as well as highlight industry issues and technology trends. Check company websites for conference details, cost, and registration.

Accela, Inc.—The Accela User Conference, Aug. 19-22, 2008, in Las Vegas, offers nearly 100 breakout sessions, keynote and special presentations, hands-on training, a technology partner expo, and networking events.

Autodesk—Autodesk University, Dec. 2-5, 2008, in Las Vegas, brings together a worldwide community of professionals—product users, instructors, software developers, and tools suppliers—to participate in a proven model of learning and networking. The 2008 conference is expected to feature about 600 sessions, divided into 20 tracks. Also available will be PowerTracks designed to focus on specific aspects of each of Autodesk’s products or the industries they cover and to give attendees an in-depth learning experience.

Bentley Systems, Inc.—BE Conference, May 28-30, 2008, in Baltimore—themed Best Practices for Sustaining Infrastructure—allows attendees to share best practices among peers who are working smarter through pragmatic innovations developed "organically" among Bentley users. Different from previous BE Conferences, the 2008 event will include only minimal lecture-based Learning Path sessions from Bentley Institute. Track sessions consist of projects and technology in 10 areas.

Deltek—Deltek Insight ’08, May 19-22, 2008, in Nashville, Tenn., provides attendees with knowledge on how to grow their business, improve performance, more effectively manage projects, and get more from their investment in Deltek products. Insight ’08 offers more than 400 breakout sessions; topics include business strategy, industry trends, customer case studies, Deltek product tips and tricks, product overviews, partner solutions, and technology.

GBA Master Series, Inc.—The GBA Master Series Annual Conference & Training, Sept. 22-24, 2008, in Atlanta, gives attendees a chance to meet and receive support from the user community, build relationships with other users, interact directly with gbaMS staff, and learn how others are finding solutions with the GBA Master Series software. Planned sessions and activities focus on optimizing skills, heightening the understanding of tools, and exploring more efficient maintenance and management practices.

Meridian Systems—The Meridian Systems User Conference, April 29-May 1, 2008, in Scottsdale, Ariz., allows attendees to meet with Meridian executives and technical staff, participate in a variety of project management software sessions, earn advanced product certifications, and attend new technology demonstrations. An exhibit pavilion features Meridian technology partners.

Primavera Systems, Inc.—Primavera’s 25th Annual Conference, Nov. 16-19, 2008, in Las Vegas, allows attendees to connect with Primavera, other project management professionals, and subject-matter experts around the world. In a keynote address, Sugar Ray Leonard will discuss POWER (Prepare, Overcome, and Win Every Round). By attending the keynote speech and technical program presentations, Project Management Professionals may qualify for as many as 14 Professional Development Units.
